Life's A Beach Over Easter Weekend

El Porto/North Manhattan Beach/NOMA

This weekend was probably the best Easter holiday weekend ever...at least the weather was. It was close to 90 degrees/32 Celsius all weekend long. I was in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Long Beach and it looked like a typical summer day.

Days like this reminds me of why I live in the South Bay in LA.

Everyone Is A Bit Irish Over The Weekend

This year St. Patrick's Day fell on a Monday so when do we celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the South Bay? Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

In Hermosa there are several Irish bars such as Patrick Malloy's, Hennessey's and FFFF (Fat Face Fenner's Faloon) and many start celbrating St. Paddy's day as soon as they get off work on Friday.Saturday, March 15th was Hermosa's Annual St. Patrick's Day parade which is a hoot. It is more like a small town parade. Nothing fancy just the local schools, groups, politicians and one X-Mayor of Hermosa [see above photo] are part of the parade.

Sharkeez was not doing any celebrating this St. Paddy's but it suppose to be open in May 2008.

With a bit of luck of the Irish they just might get into one of the Irish Bars
Some people celebrate St. Patrick's Day in different ways...like dying their dogs hair green.
